What a fantastic end to a very busy term! After making squirrel muffins we all went on an exciting walk to the woods to hang them up for the squirrels to find. While we were there we crunched through multi-coloured leaves, listened to the sounds of the woods, and even discovered a house made of sticks. We have also been on another walk this week - to discover different shapes around our school. There were lots of squares and circles, and even some triangles! We then made models and pictures and played lots of games to help us learn more about these shapes.
We have also been wowing our teachers with our phonics learning, and have found lots of opportunities to practise too! Over half term it would be lovely if the children kept practising their sounds from their red phonics books, and please continue sharing books of all sorts with your child - we love to hear what they have been reading about at home.
When we return to school we will be finding out about the different ways people celebrate Diwali, and thinking about repeating patterns.
We hope you have a fun (and restful?) half term break!
