Wootton Lower's World Book Day Competition and Challenges
At Wootton Lower I have set a number of challenges for the the week ahead. Our main ‘event’ for World Book Day this year will allow children at home and in school to participate in a competition. We are asking children to ‘Freeze Frame’ a scene from their favourite story book. This may involve children dressing up as the characters themselves or using props to recreate the scene. For example, children may dress up with their family to recreate ‘The Mad Hatters Tea Party’ from Alice in Wonderland or they may use props from the garden to recreate a scene from ‘Stick Man’. The more imaginative the better! When the scene is set parents can then take a photo of the ‘Freeze Frame’ and email it to myself at emaguire@woottonlowerschool.co.uk. Please can all entries be sent to me by end of day on Friday 5th March. We will then be choosing one winner per year group for the most creative ‘Freeze Frame’ who will be awarded with a book bundle of some books to take home.
In addition, below is the bingo reading challenge card. Cross each one off when you complete it and see if you can get a full house by the end of the week.
