Meet our amazing staff team for 2020 - 2021

Changes to drop off and collection - September 2020

It is imperative that you drop off and collect following the one way system which will be signposted from the main entrance.  Please remain behind the 2 metre line at the classroom and do not enter the building.  There can be no face to face contact with staff (please phone or email) and only one adult per child please.
Also to reduce the amount of adults on the school site at any one time, we have extended the drop off times at both sites in the morning.  You will be able to drop off at Harris Way between 8.35am and 8.55am.
Collections will be different.  To avoid large gatherings of adults on the school playground please arrive promptly to collect your child at the following times.  It has been impossible to arrange these around sibling collection so please wait at a socially distanced place if you have multiple children to collect.  If you have been given a duplicate collection time across both sites, please collect your youngest child first and then collect from Bedford Road.

F&Qs

Getting ready for school.

There are a number of ways in which you can support your child with getting ready to start school. We will continue to add ideas that you might want to try at home ready for September.
  • To recognise own name and begin to write own name.
  • Practice going to the toilet independently - including starting to wipe own bottom.
  • Explaining the importance of washing hands before eating and after visiting the toilet.
  • Encouraging your child to dress and undress themselves independently - this would also include putting on coats and shoes.
  • To begin to use a knife and fork

Phonics

As a school, we follow the RWI phonics programme and we will have a phonics meeting with you in September to find out more about it and ways that you can help at home. Below we have attached a video from the RWI website demonstrating the pure sounds and also a jolly phonics video with a song for every sound!
