If we rewind to last February, you may remember your child joining in with a whole school project during Art week. We asked for donations of recycling & any plastic materials you no longer needed. Thank you very much for your donations as they were all put to good use and the children have created something pretty magical! Our topic was 'Plastic Pollution.' Over the week, the children learnt about the sad truths of plastic pollution and why it is so important to put a stop to it. There was a particular focus on our oceans & seas and the adverse affects of plastic pollution towards the sea creatures & coral reefs. As a school, each year group collaborated to create one huge art installation. (Where we had hoped to showcase at Parents Evening in March, however due to obvious reasons this was put on hold.) I am still pleased to say, we are able to share this wonderful installation with you through the power of photos & video. Also the installation will stay up until the children have had the chance to experience it in real life. The entire installation is made up of recycled materials & things that would otherwise end up in the bin. Please enjoy looking through the photos & video. See which sea creatures you can notice & which materials have been used. I hope you agree that the children have done a marvellous job and should be very proud of the outcome. Well done WLS, both to the children & the staff! Finally, I'd like to say a huge thank you to Amanda Silk & Anne-Marie Abbate. Both artists supported and inspired many of the creations within the installation. The children thoroughly enjoyed having the artists in to work with them. Enjoy viewing our 'Plastic Pollution' installation. Video available to watch on Wotton Lower School Facebook page,

As part of our Heroes and Villains work this week, Year 1 created Andy Warhol inspired superhero pictures. They look fantastic!
Bubble 8 have worked extremely hard over the last 2 afternoons to create their own version of the Art Builders project based on Gormley's Army. A fantastic effort by all of the children and some lovely finished pieces.
The first Art Builders Toolkit is out! Watch the video, download the tool kit and have a go! We'd love to see your outcomes. Email your finished pieces to cmitri@woottonlowerschool.co.uk Watch the year 2’s detailed sketches come to life with the use of colour. 🎨 Well done Year 2! |
