This week the Reception children have loved the story 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes'. We also enjoyed making and eating Pancakes with a variety of toppings. This led to some fantastic instruction writing!
Next week our story is The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

This week, Year 3 have begun learning about measurements. We have been measuring in mm, cm and m and comparing. We have measured our heights, how far we can jump and things from around the school. Over the coming weeks, we will begin adding and subtracting measurements using different units of measure.
Seals had a fantastic week designing and making their own sculptures. We also looked at Monet and created our own version of his artwork. Well done everyone.
This afternoon, Porpoise class began looking at different rocks as part of their project on volcanoes. We used magnifying glasses to have a closer look and explore their properties. We are looking forward to carrying out some investigations over the next few weeks. Watch this space...
What a super week Turtles had during Art Week. We learned about coral bleaching and how to protect the coral reefs, constructed our own coral reef from junk modelling, made conservation posters and attempted some weaving!
As it’s Pancake Day this week, Reception children will be looking at the story of Mr Wolf’s Pancakes. They will be making shopping lists for ingredients as well as looking at the recipe. The children will get the chance to make some scrummy pancakes! 🥞 This will then help the children with their writing of instructions.
What a fun packed Art week we've had in year 2! We have learned loads about plastic pollution and how it can affect our lovely environment, made hundreds and hundreds of painted CDs (for our 'big reveal' project), made super recycled models and much much more!
All of the children have had an amazing and creative time. A big thank you to everybody who donated the 'junk' we needed to make it all possible. We have had an amazing week in Penguin class! All of the children have loved showing off their artistic and creative talents. The children have shown great enthusiasm, perseverance and team work. Well done Penguins!
Last half term, the children in Year 4 have worked with Susan from Santander taking part in the Moneywise programme. They have been learning about how to look after their money and the world of digital banking. The children really enjoyed the sessions. Isla said "It's great. Now I know what I'm dad is talking about."
We certainly have some budding entrepreneurs! The Year 3 children have been busy creating their environment themed art in preparation for the art exhibition at Harris Way (details to follow). We have been marbling, weaving, creating miniature art, reusing and recycling and can't wait to see all our hard work on display.
We won't share the finished pieces with you yet but we know you are going to be as excited as we are. Watch this space! |
