Dear Parents and Carers,

So as we enter a new week in an extended lockdown I do hope you are all doing OK.  The teachers will continue to call you every few weeks but please call the school in-between if you are struggling with anything.  We are in this together and we are here to help you.  I speak on behalf of all the staff when I say we really miss you all.

In these strange times please don’t be too hard on yourselves.  You are all doing the best that you can in the circumstances.   No-one has ever done this before so try not be judgemental.  Fundamentally your children staying at home is about being safe and not about you trying to provide a world class education.  As I have said before, please don’t get stressed if the worksheets don’t get done or your 'home school' has an off day.   Please don't worry about children regressing in their learning - we have a fantastically talented team who will pick up the education of your children when they come back to school.
In terms of education news, the Government has announced today a ‘major package to support online learning’.

Disadvantaged children across England are set to receive laptops and tablets as part of a push to make remote education accessible for pupils staying at home during the coronavirus outbreak.  We will review the detail of this to see if any of you qualify.
Also, Oak National Academy is due to launch tomorrow. This is a brand-new enterprise created by 40 teachers from some of the leading schools across England, backed by government grant funding. It will provide 180 video lessons each week, across a broad range of subjects from maths to art to languages, for every year group from Reception through to Year 10.

From an initial view this looks great and we will see how we can make this fit alongside what we are posting daily.  We will provide a guide and share some good ways you can use it ASAP.
On a lighter note I have included a very hard picture puzzle this week.  Where is this in school?  I will be very impressed if someone gets this right.  Also enjoy this week’s videos!

Stay safe.
